Job Position: Minor League Medical Coordinator

Job Description:
The Chicago White Sox are hiring a Minor League Medical Coordinator. This position will require daily interaction with both Minor and Major league medical staff, field staff, strength & conditioning coaches, sports science staff, team Physicians, as well as other staff and front office members. Responsibilities are included but not limited to, oversite all Minor League Athletic Training Departments in the Organization. This is a full-time position that will be compensated for with a competitive salary, benefits package and does require relocation to the Phoenix area.
Responsibilities:
- Establish an environment supportive of ALL medical staff members.
- Coordinate the minor league athletic training staff, including the Dominican Republic, regarding injury management based on current research and standards of care.
- Oversee athletic training services and sports medicine care for all minor league players and staff during spring training, the season, and off-season.
- Coordination of medical appointments and necessary travel logistics pertaining to medical related issues.
- Collaboration with Medical Administrator/ Human Resources, regarding health insurance and worker’s compensation billing.
- Coordination of ATC and team physician medical coverage at affiliates.
- Communicate with front office/coaching staff as it pertains to medical decision making and current health status.
- Communicate and collaborate with Sports Performance Team
- Communication and coordination of medical decisions/procedures with Major League medical staff.
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Coordination of Spring Training physicals and entrance physicals of newly signed players.
- Oversee budget, inventory and supply ordering for all minor league affiliate athletic training facilities.
- Coordinate the hiring process of ATC’s for open positions in the organization.
- Participate in off-season camps and medical staff development
- Perform on-site visits to all minor league affiliates, including the Dominican Republic.

- Demonstrate efficient time management skills and an ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in high stress situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports medicine field required; Master’s Degree and PT/ATC Dual Credential Preferred but not required.
- Current NATA BOC Certification and Eligible for Licensure in the State of Arizona
- CPR Certified
- 5+ years experience in professional baseball.
- Prior experience in a coordinator/leadership role.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred, but not required.
Work Environment
Position will work in an athletic training room, weight room, baseball complex, office, and stadium environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and fax machines. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Work is medium in demand. Lifting one hundred pounds maximum with frequent lifting or carrying of objects. Medium strength is required to position athletes for examination and assisting them on and off the exam table. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel may be occasionally required to assist with physician appointments and rehab assignments.
