Description:
The Pirates are seeking a Minor League Certified Athletic Trainer to be assigned to our Dominican Republic Academy in Boca Chica (El Toro), Dominican Republic. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Latin American Athletic Training Coordinator while the DR Medical Staff in the management of player healthcare, including but not limited to on-field coverage, prevention, maintenance, evaluation and treatment programs. Responsibilities will include coverage of DR Spring Training, the Dominican Summer League season, international sign players, and post season camps.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-field coverage, prevention, evaluation,treatment, and rehabilitation techniques for various injuries.
- Daily communication with respective medical, performance, and coaching staff.
- Documentation andrecord keeping using the electronic medical records system (EMR).
- Assistingwith and ensuring adherence to daily maintenance and treatment programs for all players.
- Perform various administrative duties as assigned.
- Adhering to and monitoring of Health & Safety Protocols per MLB and the Club.
Requirements:
- NATA-BOCcertified and in good standing.
- Eligible to meet state Licensure requirements.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Strong communicationand computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish is aplus but not
- Experience working with players from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Prior experience in professional baseball.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and activelyparticipate in on-field practices and games for extended periods of time.
- Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities andaccompany players during practices and games.
