Job Description
The Philadelphia Phillies are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) for the 2025 Season. The Certified Athletic Trainer will operate out of the Phillies Dominican Republic Academy in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. This position will have the opportunity to learn in a fast-paced environment by participating in staff continuing education and formation of integrated player plans focused on injury prevention and performance enhancement. The position requires presence at offseason DR camps, DR spring training, and Dominican Summer League season. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
Responsibilities
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following
- Coordinate with medical staff on daily operations including athletic training room operations, field coverage, rehabilitation plans, and organizational performance processes under the direction of the Latin American Medical Coordinator
- Provide an advanced level of care and management of injuries and illness including injury prevention and performance enhancement.
- Regular communication of player’s status and availability with Medical Coordinators and Player Development Staff
- Maintain proper medical records in accordance with organizational and MLB minimum standards within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans (EAP), medical networks, and OSHA compliant athletic training room
- Collaborate with player development staff including performance staff in the development of integrated player plans
- Assist International Scouting on assessment and risk analysis of potential signees and provide acclimation programs for new signees
Required Qualifications
- National Athletic Trainer’s Association – Board of Certification in good standing
- Eligible and in good standing for PA and FL State Licensure
- CPR / AED Certified
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional baseball experience
- Spanish Proficiency
- M.S. or other advanced degree/study
