Description:

The Pirates are currently seeking a Minor League Certified Athletic Trainer to be assigned to our Spring Training Facility in Bradenton, FL. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Rehab Coordinator and Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator, while collaborating with the Florida-based Medical Staff in the management of player healthcare, including but not limited to on-field coverage, prevention, maintenance, evaluation and treatment programs. Responsibilities will include coverage of Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, the Florida Complex League Rookie Team, and Minor League Players on rehab assignment. The availability of shorter-term (seasonal) assignments may be an option for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-field coverage, prevention, evaluation,treatment and rehabilitation techniques for various injuries.
  • Daily communication with respective medical, performance, and coaching staff.
  • Documentation and recordkeeping using the electronic medical records system (EMR).
  • Assistingwith and ensuring adherence to daily maintenance and treatment programs for all players.
  • Perform various administrative duties as assigned.
  • Adhering to and monitoring of Health & Safety Protocols per MLB and the Club.

Requirements:

  • NATABOC certified and in good standing.
  • Eligible to meet state Licensure requirements.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong communicationand computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred butnot
  • Experience working with players from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Prior experience in professional baseball.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and activelyparticipate in on-field practices and games for extended periods of time.
  • Adequate mobility and physical stamina to engage in field activities andaccompany players during practices and games.
