JOB SUMMARY:                

The Boston Red Sox are seeking a Minor League Physical Therapist for the 2022 season based in Fort Myers, FL. The Minor League Physical Therapist will work under the direct supervision of the Director, Sports Medicine Services and Minor League Rehab Coordinator.

Utilizing a collaborative approach with the performance department, design and execute state of the art rehabilitation processes through the use of evidence based therapy protocols to maximize on-field performance. Provide and support the delivery of, comprehensive and appropriate rehabilitation services to all Minor League players at the guidance of the Minor League Rehab Coordinator in order to ensure a fast and effective return to competition at the highest level.


  • Provide physical therapy for all post-surgical minor league rehab cases and provide support, as needed, for Major League rehab cases in Fort Myers
  • As advised by Minor League Rehab Coordinator, communicate and collaborate with treating or surgery providing Physician regarding return to play progressions for surgical cases
  • Communicate and follow up with Red Sox staff ATC’s on the progress of players recently discharged from rehab in Ft. Myers as needed
  • Support the Minor League Rehab Coordinator in working to Develop and coordinate with Senior Coordinator, Pitching in scheduling and tracking of rehabbing pitchers during minor league Spring Training and Regular Season
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff for rehab progressions for various players – including but not limited to, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning and on-field baseball staff
  • Collaborate with Sports Science group and others in performance department to seek out researched based new methodology, technology, and communication pathways
  • Improving processes, objectifying rehab progressions, and better tracking return to health and readiness to play are key responsibilities of this position
  • Daily rehab documentation reporting
  • Additional duties as assigned by Director, Player Development and Minor League Rehab Coordinator


  • Maintains professional licenses and CEU’s
  • Recent Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master’s in Physical Therapy
  • OCS/SCS certification or completed Sports/Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency
  • Eligible and in good standing for Florida State Licensure
  • CPR/AED Certified and First Aid
  • Willingness to learn, travel, and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • PT/ATC dual certification
  • Prior experience treating patients in collegiate sports, professional sports, or active duty military
  • Ability to throw/play catch
  • Spanish Proficiency preferred


  • Fort Myers based position
  • Representation at any events and meetings deemed appropriate by the Club. Additional travel as assigned by Director, Player Development; Minor League Rehab Coordinator
