The Boston Red Sox are hiring eight (8) Minor League Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainers for our 2019 season. Four (4) of the positions are with full-season affiliates (March 1 – Early September). Four (4) positions are for the short season Rookie affiliate and Dominican Republic Academy. Assistants will be paid hourly, overtime, meal money, and housing allowance. No benefit package but room and board cover by Organization during Spring Training, travel expenses also covered.
Assistants will have the opportunity to assist in the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of baseball specific injuries; assist in implementation of our strength & conditioning program; learn and aid in the proper documentation within the MLB EMR system; and assist in the various administrative duties/reporting procedures. The assistants will work under the direct supervision of the Head Minor League Team Physician, Athletic Training Coordinator, and Affiliate Head ATC. Chosen candidates should expect a great learning opportunity in an advancing field of evidence-based practice while gaining valuable experience working within a professional sports medicine team to include and aggressive continuing education program.
Interested applicants should be Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) or be enrolled in a CAATE accredited program and eligible to sit for BOC exam during the 2019 calendar year. Applicants are expected to fulfill the duration of the position. They should possess ability and have willingness to learn, travel, and work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Preferable if applicants have prior experience and/or additional certification in strength & conditioning. Prior baseball experience and bilingual are a plus but not required
