JOB STATUS: Full-Time

LOCATION: Clearwater, Florida

REPORTS TO: Minor League Medical Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: The Philadelphia Phillies are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) for the Dominican Republic Academy in Santo Domingo, DR. The position requires presence at DR camps, spring training, and Dominican Republic Summer League. The ATC will mentor and work with trainers in providing field coverage, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and implementation of organizational prevention programs for the DR Academy players. Potential candidates need to be willing to collaborate interdepartmentally including skill coaching, integrative baseball performance, mental skills, and S&C. Potential candidates should also be able to communicate effectively with the Minor League Medical Coordinator, Minor League Rehab Coordinator, Head Athletic Trainer, DR physician network, and front office. Residence in Clearwater, FL is preferred. Housing assistance may be available for any candidates who are not local to the area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Maintain proper medical records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized athletic training room
  • Maintain FCL Affiliate OSHA compliance and ensure Emergency Action Plan (EAP) is up-to-date with on-field training completed annually
  • Assist in the organizational player assessment process
  • Integrate in player plan development, implementation, and modifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • National Athletic Trainer’s Association – Board of Certification in good standing
  • Eligible and in good standing for FL State Licensure
  • CPR / AED Certified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous professional baseball experience
  • Spanish Proficiency
  • M.S. or other advanced degree/study
