Summary:
This position will give a new graduate the opportunity to gain experience in professional baseball while being part of a multi-disciplinary performance department. The intern selected for this role will have a variety of responsibilities as assigned by the Minor League Performance Physical Therapists.
Program Details
- Interns will be compensated on an hourly basis and are eligible for overtime
- All positions begin upon the start of Minor League Spring Training and will end upon conclusion of the Minor League season
- A housing allowance will be paid or otherwise housing provided; no benefits are provided
- Travel is paid for by the Organization
- Internship placements will be made for the following locations: Syracuse (NY), Binghamton (NY), Brooklyn (NY), and Port St. Lucie (FL)
- Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship
- Hours for this position may vary week to week; candidates must be available and prepared to work nights and weekends
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Injury evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of long-term and/or post-surgical injuries.
- Assess risk of injury, perform appropriate evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation of long-term and/or post-surgical injuries, under the direction and supervision of the minor league physical therapists
- Work as part of a coordinated performance department to implement organizational programs
- Implement and create rehabilitation and injury prevention programs
- Daily work out coverage including pre/post treatments
- Administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current BOC Certification preferred
- CPR/AED certification required
- New graduates welcome to apply
