Michael Salazar is entering his second season as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Minnesota Twins after spending one season with the San Diego Padres as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He spent seven seasons as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Coordinator for the Cleveland Indians. Salazar spent 11 seasons as a minor league athletic trainer for the Cleveland Indians at all levels from 2000-2011. Prior to working with the Tribe, Michael spent one season in the Atlanta Braves organization. Michael was also appointed to the position of Head Athletic Trainer for the Dominican Team during the first two World Baseball Classics. He spent two off seasons (2004 & 2011) working for the Águilas, a winter ball team in the Dominican Republic. In 2016, he shared the honor of being named to the “Major League Athletic Training Staff of the Year” along with Lonnie Soloff, James Quinlan, and Jeff Desjardins. Michael currently serves as the AL Head Athletic Trainer Rep on the Executive Board for the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS). Michael obtained his undergraduate degree from Manchester University, completed his graduate work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Michael completed his Doc- tor of Athletic Training degree (DAT) from A. T. Still University in 2018. A native of Chicago, Salazar currently resides in Columbus, OH.
