  • To rehabilitate surgical and non-surgical baseball related injuries.
  • The ability to construct and implement a rehabilitation plan based on a physician’s protocol.
  • Effectively communicate rehab plans with the athletic training coordinator, major league head athletic trainer, physicians, strength and conditioning coaches and front office personnel.
  • Time management skills with the ability to effectively manage a fast paced athletic training facility.
  • Document all services provided in Major League Baseball’s EMR online program.
  • Have the flexibility to work odd and long hours during the baseball season.
  • Coordinate travel for injured players from and to their affiliates to Jupiter for rehab.
  • Accompany injured athletes to doctor’s appointments to Miami or for a second opinion by a physician outside of the organization.
  • The ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Assist the athletic training coordinator with administrative duties as necessary.
  • Effective communication with the rehab pitching coach on daily throwing programs.
  • Maintain effective communication with the athletic training coordinator on player status and progress of rehab players.
  • Ability to create an appropriate throwing, hitting, fielding and running progressions in order to transition the player back to competition.
  • Obtain baseline shoulder and elbow ROM measurements and track those numbers throughout the course of the season. Implement any corrective exercises as needed.
  • Assist in minor league and major league pre-participation physical exams.
  • Coordinate all physical therapy internship programs with accredited college/university programs. Ensure all internship candidates meet the requirements and continue the educational requirements of the physical therapy program of the college/university.
  • Maintain certification and licensure through participating in CEU courses.
  • Communicate with affiliate athletic trainer any necessary maintenance exercises that are prescribed for athletes.
  • Willing to relocate to the Jupiter area to work at the facility year round.
  • Certified as both an athletic trainer and physical therapist. (Preferred)
  • Ability to obtain licensure in Florida as an athletic trainer and physical therapist.
