The Miami Marlins are looking to hire a Major League Assistant Athletic Trainer. Please review job description and application instructions below.

  • Be proficient and knowledgeable of all therapeutic equipment and devices in the athletic training room.
  • Rehabilitate surgical and non-surgical baseball related injuries.
  • The ability to implement a rehabilitation plan based on a physician’s protocol.
  • The ability to assist in the athletic training room and weight room.
  • Effectively communicate with the Major League head athletic trainer, physicians, strength and conditioning coaches and front office personnel.
  • Time management skills with the ability to effectively manage a fast paced athletic training facility.
  • Document all services provided in Major League Baseball’s EMR online program.
  • Have the flexibility to work odd and long hours during the baseball season.
  • Accompany injured athletes to doctor’s appointments or for a second opinion by a physician outside of the organization.
  • The ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Assist the Major League head athletic trainer with administrative duties as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Major League head athletic trainer on player status and progress of rehab players.
  • Assist in Major League and Minor League pre-participation physical exams.
  • Be up to date on Emergency Procedures (First Aid, CPR, AED)
  • Effectively communicate in game communication with Manager and Staff.
  • NATA Certified and Florida Licensed
  • Maintain NATA certification and Florida licensure through participating in CEU courses.
  • Previous professional baseball experience preferred.
  • CSCS certification and bilingual preferred.
