Job Title: Major or Minor League Physical Therapist

Department: Medical Department

Reports To: Director of Medical Services

Location: Miami (Major Leagues) or Jupiter, FL (Minor Leagues)

Position Summary: Physical Therapist responsible for the rehabilitation and administrative duties for Major or Minor League players

Essential Functions:

  • Develop accurate diagnosis and prognosis of players acute and chronic injuries/illness.
  • Ability to refer to appropriate medical personnel including team MD and other medical providers
  • Evaluate and treat athletic injuries and general medical conditions
  • Create and implement rehabilitation and return to sport activity programs
  • Injury / rehabilitation documentation and tracking
  • Communicate with doctors, athletic trainers, players, and front office regarding rehab status updates
  • Supervise and educate other health care professionals involved in care of the patient’s rehab.
  • Year round position in Miami or Jupiter, Florida
  • Involvement in Medical Risk Assessments
  • Develop a Rehab Education Program for the medical staff

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Eligible for Florida PT Licensure
  • NATA Certification a plus
  • May Require Travel with the Team
  • Dry Needling Certification
  • CPR and AED certified

Education & Experience Guidelines:

  • Previous Experience in treatment and rehab of Baseball Injuries especially at Major or Minor League levels
  • Bilingual – Spanish a plus
  • Baseball Research Ability
  • Understanding of Injury and Baseball Analytics
  • PT/ATC Dual Certification a plus
