Job Description:

The Miami Marlins are currently accepting applications for a full-time athletic training internship position for the 2020 season. 6 month (March – August/September) paid internship based out of the Marlins’ Player Development complex in Jupiter, FL. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Minor League Medical Coordinator and the Rehab Coordinator during Spring Training, Extended Spring Training, Gulf Coast League, and the Florida State League.

The primary responsibilities of the internship will include assisting the Miami Marlins medical staff with:

  • Prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of baseball specific injuries
  • Field and training room coverage
  • Execution of return to play protocols
  • Facilitation of arm care & rehab exercise programs
  • Entrance and post-participation physicals
  • Accompanying players to physician appointments & proper EMR documentation
  • Data collection

Qualifications:

NATA – BOC Certified

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field

Eligible for Florida Licensure

Previous experience in baseball and/or rehab setting preferred, but not required

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
