Job Description:

The Los Angeles Dodgers are hiring a Minor League Athletic Trainer. This position will be assigned to a level depending on the qualifications of the candidate and staffing of pre-existing employees. They will work under the direct supervision of the Head Minor League Team Physician, Affiliate Team Physician (if applicable), and Minor League Medical Coordinator. Applicants should possess the ability and willingness to learn, travel, and work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. We are seeking an Athletic Trainer with strong communication skills. This is a full-time position that will be compensated with a salary, benefits package, and housing allowance (if applicable). Start date of employment is flexible. January/February 2025 is the latest to comfortably onboard prior to Spring Training.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-field emergency medical care
  • Perform daily treatments and ensure adherence to maintenance exercise routines
  • Evaluate and diagnose baseball specific injuries and general medical conditions
  • Create rehabilitation and return to play progressions (i.e. throwing, hitting, running) based on the players’ injury and position
  • Collaborate with the Strength and Conditioning, Sports Science, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Mental Health and Player Development staff to implement rehabilitation plans and organizational initiatives
  • Communicate daily player health updates and progressions with Minor League Medical Coordinator, Team Physicians, Coaching Staff, and Front Office Personnel
  • Coordinate medical appointments with Affiliate Team Physician and Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator
  • Document all pertinent health information within the MLB EMR system in a timely manner
  • Mentor and supervise any associate athletic trainers or interns/observational students
  • Complete various administrative duties and reporting procedures
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies at assigned affiliate

  • Adhere to Los Angeles Dodgers Organization policies and procedures
  • Act as a role model within and outside the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization
  • Demonstrate efficient time management skills and an ability to prioritize workload

Qualifications:

  • Interested applicants are required to be a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) at the time of application
  • Eligible to meet state Licensure requirements
  • CPR & AED certified
  • Previous experience working clinically in professional sports and/or baseball is preferred, but not required
