Jamie Reed

Jamie Reed, 46, is entering his fourth season as head athletic trainer for the Texas Rangers. From 1997 to 2002, Reed was head athletic trainer for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He also was the assistant athletic trainer for the Baltimore Orioles from 1989 to 1996. While at the Orioles, Reed shared "Major League Baseball Athletic Training Staff of the Year" honors in 1996 with Richie Bancells. Prior to his Major League appointment in 1989, Reed spent seven seasons in the Orioles' Minor League system with teams in Bluefield (Rookie League), Hagerstown (Class A), Charlotte (Class AA) and Rochester (Class AAA). Reed is a former American League assistant athletic trainer representative on the PBATS Executive Committee. In addition to speaking at MLB's 1999 Rookie Development Program, he lectured on the role of the Minor League athletic trainer at the 1997 NATA Clinical Symposium in Salt Lake City. In December 2003 Reed traveled to Japan to address the Japanese Professional Baseball Athletics Trainers Society (JPBATS). Anative of Annapolis, Md., Reed served as athletic trainer for the U.S. Naval Academy's football and basketball teams from 1982 to 1984, and again in 1988. During the 2000 season, he was selected as the trainer for the American League team in the All-Star Game. In December 2001, he was selected by his peers as the new president of PBATS, and was re-elected to the position in 2003 and again in 2005. Reed lives in Grand Prairie, Texas ,with his wife Jean and their children, Zach, Becky, and Rachel.

Kevin Harmon

Kevin Harmon, 45, is in his third year as Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Texas Rangers. Harmon’s career started with the Atlanta Class A Sumter Braves (1986-1987) and then the Atlanta Class A Durham Bulls (1988-1990). In 1991 he was a Clinical and Outreach Athletic Trainer in Ypsilanti, Mich., then moved to the Baltimore Orioles Class AA Hagerstown Suns in 1992, followed by a four year stay (1993-1996) with the Baltimore Orioles Class AAA Rochester Red Wings, and then in 1997 was the Minor League Coordinator for the Baltimore Orioles. From 1998-2000 Harmon was S&C Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and in 2001 was their Minor League S&C Coordinator. He was Minor League Medical and Strength Coordinator from 2003-2004 for the Texas Rangers. Born in Battle Creek, Mich., Harmon now resides in Mansfield, TX with his wife Melony and their children Madison (13) and Gage (9).

Matthew Lucero
Position: Medical Coordinator

Matt Lucero, 40, is in his third year as Minor League Medical Coordinator with the Texas Rangers. Lucero’s career began with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Rookie team in Princeton, West Virgina (1999), followed by the Rays Class A Charleston Riverdogs(2000), Rays High A Bakersfield Blaze (2001 and 2002), Rays Double A Orlando Rays (2003), and Rays Double A Montgomery Biscuits (2004 and 2005). He was then hired by the Texas Rangers as their Rehab Coordinator in 2006 and moved into his current role as Medical Coordinator in 2007. Born in Fairview, NM., Lucero now resides in Goodyear, Arizona with his wife Regina and their children Madyson (6) and Andres (4), and Max (3 months).
