- Ray Ramirez, joins the New York Mets as Head Athletic Trainer after 13 seasons with the Texas Rangers and five seasons with the club's Class AAA Oklahoma City 89ers and one year as athletic trainer for the Class AA Orlando Twins. The Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, native began his career with the New York Mets Rookie League affiliate in Sarasota in 1983. Later that year, he was promoted to the Class A Lynchburg Mets. In 1984, Ramirez joined the Rookie League Little Falls Mets, and in 1985, the Class A Columbia Mets. Ramirez was chosen to work as an Athletic Trainer for the 2004 All Star Game in Houston, TX. Ramirez is a member of the NATA and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His hobbies include weight training and conditioning. He lives in Arlington, Texas, with his two sons, Rico and Ricky.

- Michael Herbst, 40, is entering his fifth full year in Major League baseball as the assistant trainer for the New York Mets. Herbst, a 10- year veteran of the Minor Leagues, has spent his entire career with the New York Mets organization. After working his way up through the Minor League ranks, Herbst was named the Minor League medical coordinator for the Mets organization in 1997. He remained in this position until he returned to his hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2001 as the head athletic trainer for the Brooklyn Cyclones. Herbst worked in Brooklyn until he was appointed to the position of assistant athletic trainer for the New York Mets. Herbst now lives in Port Lucie, Fla., with wife Lisa and their daughters, Kelsey and Jordan.

- Beginning his fifth year with the Mets as the Minor League Medical Coordinator. Was the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2001-2005...named as a member of the 2002 Major League Athletic Trainers Staff of the Year. Spent the previous four years as the Pirates’ Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator..in that role, he was responsible for maintaining the health and medical care, along with the rehabilitation and strength and conditioning programs for the entire minor league system. Spent the 1996 season as the head athletic trainer for the Carolina Mudcats (AA) of the Southern League. From 1992 - 1995, served as the athletic trainer for the Gulf Coast (R) Pirates as well as the assistant rehabilitation coordinator at the club’s minor league complex in Bradenton, Florida. Served as an athletic trainer at the Rolex Junior World Tennis Championships from 1994 - 2000. Worked as the athletic trainer for the Arizona Fall League in 1994. Was an athletic trainer for the Honolulu Sharks in the Hawaiian Winter League in 1996. Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida in 1991. Mark, 40, and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Port St. Lucie, Florida with their two sons, Spencer and Preston.
