Fellow athletic trainers….I have returned from a few days of split squads and packing to go up north. I have enjoyed bringing all of you a little insight into some of the things that go into spring training. This blog has really helped me more than it did you in preparing for the season. I will explain how. As I write these entries I go over things to explain and sometimes think of more interesting ideas. I write precautions for the safety of the players and often put them into effect that day. It keeps me sharper for lack of a better explaination. I will try to enter one more time before we break for the season. I wish all of the people involved in professional baseball the greatest of luck this coming season. Remember one thing about athletic training when you run into dilemmas this season , that this is a tremendous brotherhood. I have met some of the greatest athletic trainers in the world and have been helped by many more. It does not matter what level you are at lean on the older statesman for advice and support. I have never reached out to another athletic trainer for help and been denied. It is terrific thing that you are involved in, and do not ever take it for granted . As you move up and gain experience, it is vital that you support and help the younger trainers to keep the tradition alive. I would not be writing this now if it was not for the incredible people of pbats and past mentors. I’am honored to have been given the chance to help any and all who read this. All my very best to everyone involved in this reading…. M
